We currently estimate that Grand River Avenue will be reopened by Wednesday, December 21 with the exception of some temporary outer lane closures for grade changes just off the roadway. Please read below for a more detailed description of the final work that will occur in 2022.Final Work on the Okemos Road and Grand River Ave Intersection All traffic lanes on Grand River Ave through the Okemos Road intersection will be reopened on Friday, December 9. Both eastbound lanes and the center turn lane were fully reopened through the intersection on December 5-6. Both westbound lanes will be fully reopened through the intersection on Friday, December 9. We are currently waiting on Consumers Energy to connect the traffic signal in order to fully reopen the Grand River Ave and Okemos Road intersection. More information will come regarding this timeline soon, but we anticipate that the intersection will be reopened between Wednesday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 20. The westbound outer lane will be temporarily closed in front of McDonalds, Discount Tire, Panera, and the strip mall at the northeast corner of the Grand River Ave and Okemos Road intersection the week of Monday, December 12 to raise the grade on the north side of the road, remove the temporary asphalt service drive, and install new curb cuts to Discount Tire, Panera, and the strip mall at the northeast corner of the intersection. The Township is currently working with MDOT and their contractors on a plan to maintain access to these businesses as best as possible during this work. We hope this work can be completed the week of December 12, but it may continue into the week of December 19 in order to maintain access to businesses as best as possible. More information will be shared with the businesses as it becomes available. Final Work on the Nakoma and Playmakers Section of Grand River Ave This portion of the Grand River Ave project, which includes the raising of Grand River Ave, Hamilton Road, and Short St/Nakoma Dr, and the curb cuts to businesses along these roads is nearing completion. These roads and curb cuts to businesses in this area will be reopening in phases from Wednesday, December 14 through Wednesday, December 21 as the concrete cures and the final pavement markings are placed on the roads. For a brief period after Wednesday, December 21, there will be some temporary closures of the outer eastbound lane through this portion of the project to raise the grade and complete related work on the south side of Grand River Ave.

South of the entrance pavilion, accessed from a driveway on 61st Street, is a \"motor court\" paved in cobblestones.[15][21] The motor court measures 70 by 200 ft (21 by 61 m)[16] and is arranged around a black-granite fountain.[21] The building's management discouraged chauffeurs from waiting in the motor court, so many chauffeurs instead wait on a shoulder along Central Park West, which is designated as a no-parking zone.[22] There is also a private outdoor garden for tenants along 62nd Street, north of the entrance pavilion.[21][23] The private garden contain a reflecting pool, which serves as a skylight above the swimming pool in the basement.[21][24] The garden can also be arranged to accommodate additional seating for the building's dining room.[25]
When 15 CPW was completed, it received mixed criticism. The New Yorker architecture critic Paul Goldberger wrote that the building was designed to \"echo\" Central Park West's many notable late Art Deco buildings.[138] Goldberger also compared the building to the great apartment houses of the 1920s, 778 Park Avenue, 834 Fifth Avenue, 1040 Fifth Avenue, and 740 Park Avenue.[4] James Gardner of The New York Sun wrote: \"Mr. Stern has applied a skillful sense of proportion and scale, not only between the two buildings in the project, but in the handling of the angular, pillared summit of the taller building, and the zigguratted terraces in the smaller building.\"[18] Justin Davidson, writing for New York magazine in 2007, described the building as the city's \"best new prewar\" structure during that year.[139] The New York Times said the building \"pulls off the trick of appearing simultaneously new and as if it had always been there\".[140]
Conversely, the AIA Guide to New York City lamented Stern's \"attempted re-incarnation\" of the luxurious apartment buildings built on Central Park West between the two world wars. It criticized how \"everything's exaggerated, retro and gigantic\" and characterized the building as inferior to the Century just to the north.[141] Many of the building's residents had made their wealth through intangible assets such as software, music, or hedge funds, leading Justin Davidson to say: \"Stern does not claim to be an architect of great originality; instead, he has built the best knockoff money can buy.\"[139]
Central Park was one of the first American parks designed and developed by landscape architects. Spanning 843 acres, its terrain ranges from flat grassy fields and slight slopes to luscious groves and rocky ravines.
